What Margaret stores on your computer

Margaret stores everything locally. Your helper library, your run inputs, your run outputs, and your settings are all saved as plain files in a folder you choose. You can read, back up, move, or delete any of them at any time.

Your API key is stored in your system keychain, not in a plain text file.

What Margaret sends over the internet

The only external contact Margaret makes is to your AI provider when you run a helper. The text you give the helper as input — and the helper's instructions — are sent to that provider (currently Anthropic's Claude API) to generate a response.

Margaret does not send your data to WFK.digital or any other third party. There are no analytics, no crash reporting, and no telemetry in the current version.

Your AI provider

When you run a helper, the content of that run is sent to Anthropic (or whichever provider you configure). How Anthropic handles that data is covered by Anthropic's privacy policy. Margaret is not responsible for the data practices of third-party AI providers.
